We were supposed to fly on the Boeing 747 but were switched to the Airbus 380-800. Lufthansa began flying from SFO on May 10th so we lucked out. This is my first time on the Airbus 380-800. From the outside, this aircraft is as big as a u.s. federal penitentiary. In the video, as the plane taxis out, you can see another A380 parked. The takeoff was smooth and the aircraft is great at keeping out noise. The aircraft had a little bit of a running start. We took off from Frankfurt to San Francisco. The flight is about 10 hr and 30 min. The economy class cabin is one of the most comfortable I sat in.
